FAQ

Questions about membership

Who can join?

Anyone with a stake in the Paris Agreement carbon market: banks, buyers, traders and developers; SMEs and advisories; ministries, Article 6 focal points and agencies; NGOs, multilaterals and research institutes; and individual professionals, academics and students.

What is the difference between FREE and PAID?

FREE is for individuals who want Article 6 news, newsletters and Network announcements. PAID is for individuals and organisations seeking wider participation in the Members Area, Working Groups, Radar, events, Academy and reports. The benefits included depend on the selected package; compare the 2027 table above.

Which packages are available?

The ten 2027 packages are Founding Partner, Strategic Partner, Corporate Partner, Government (Buyer), Associate Partner, Individual (Premium), Observer (Premium), Government, Individual and Observer. Government, Individual and Observer are free; the other seven packages have proposed fees.

Is Government membership free?

The Government package is free, keeping governments at the table with a dedicated voice through the Government council and policy dialogues. The separate Government (Buyer) package costs CHF 5,000 and includes additional visibility and Summit tickets, as listed in the table.

Are the fees final?

Not yet. The fees shown are proposed and will be set by the founders at the founding General Assembly. A cap (for example, no member above 10% of annual income) protects independence.

What is a Founding Partner?

The proposed CHF 50,000 package supports the Network’s work and includes all Members Area and Academy access, Article 6 Radar, Summit VIP access with five tickets and a speaking role and workshop, report visibility, a dedicated page and homepage logo placement. See the package table for the supplied allocations; support never buys influence over editorial decisions.

What do the Premium packages include?

Individual (Premium) and Observer (Premium) are proposed at CHF 500 until June 2027. Each includes all Members Area access, Article 6 News and Radar, one Summit ticket, one Academy course or webinar, and the 2027 State of the Article 6 Market report.

Are events and Academy courses included?

Inclusions vary by package. Some packages include Summit tickets and Academy access or courses; free Individual and Observer packages list a 50% discount for the Summit and Academy. Check the table before applying. Register separately for events through their event pages. The Article 6 Academy is planned to launch in Q2 2027.

Does every package include Article 6 Radar?

Article 6 Radar is listed for the seven paid packages and the free Government package. It is not listed for the free Individual or Observer packages. A blank cell in the table means that benefit is unspecified, rather than an entitlement.

How do I apply and when will I hear back?

Choose FREE or PAID on the Join page and complete the relevant application. The Secretariat reviews applications within 48hrs. For membership questions, email members@article6.net.

Does applying give me immediate Members Area access?

Submitting an application does not activate an account or grant access automatically. Follow the email confirmation and access instructions for your approved membership. The public Members Area overview lets you explore the workspace before signing in.

When are the report and Global Survey launched?

The State of the Article 6 Carbon Market is the annual report launched at each COP. The annual Global Survey is launched at the UNFCCC Bonn sessions in June; its first results are planned for the Article 6 Summit on Friday 11 June 2027. Survey participation and sponsorship are separate from the membership benefits listed in the table.

Does the Network endorse credits or projects?

No. The statutes rule out endorsing specific credits, projects, ratings or transactions, and members recuse themselves from any decision touching their own business.
