Our mission

Make Article 6 the default carbon market for governments, investors and companies.

Article 6 Network (article6.net) is a Swiss non-profit, member-led, Geneva-based Association. The Paris Agreement carbon market is the only globally-compliant carbon market in the world with one global rulebook (The Paris Agreement), one global framework (Article 6) and one global system built on host-country authorisation, national registries, corresponding adjustments and UN oversight. The Network educates all the parties that can use it (governments & the private sector), makes the policy case for scaling it, publishes its reference intelligence and connects its participants.

Banks, companies, developers and host governments get a shared, dedicated network. Its mission: make Article 6 the default carbon market for governments, investors and companies.

Article 6 Network Association, seated in Geneva, Switzerland.

    Article 6 Academy
  2. 02

    Advocate

Evidence-based recommendations at three levels: national authorisation frameworks, the EU 2040 climate framework and claims rules, and the UNFCCC Article 6 negotiations, Supervisory Body and CORSIA eligibility via ICAO.

    Policy papers
  3. 03

    Publish

Article 6 Radar, daily and weekly analysis of Article 6 headlines; Article 6 Views, the policy blog; The State of the Article 6 Carbon Market, the annual report launched at each COP, and the Article 6 Network Global Survey, launched at each Bonn UNFCCC sessions in June.

    Article 6 News
  4. 04

    Connect

    Events

The gap

Nobody speaks for Article 6 alone

The established carbon market bodies grew up around the voluntary carbon market (VCM). IETA covers all emissions trading; ICVCM and VCMI set voluntary-market integrity and claims rules. Government groups such as the Article 6 Ambition Alliance, Japan’s A6IP Center and the regional carbon market alliances serve states, not market participants. Article 6 Network is the carbon market voice of the Paris Agreement.
